Happy Birthday Lashes

March 7, 2011 - One year ago today, Lashes made her entry into the world. She has certainly made her presence felt here at Khariz. She has her best buddy, Tash to play with and her very adored Afghan friend Snow to drive crazy with face kisses.

February 13, 2011 - Mamma Yaffa surrounded two of her beautiful girls. Ata-Alanna (Kikki) on the left and Afareen (Afi) on the right. Both girls require just one more CC at 2 years of age to become champions. Well done Mama Yaffa.

February 13, 2011 - Kikki is CC winner, Best of Breed and Hound Group 2 at Olen Kennel Club. She was beautifully handled to these wins by Anna Storesund. Congratulations to all! Breed and Group Judge was Eli Marie Klepp.

Lashes' First Points

December 11,2010: Lashes picks up her first points and her first major at the Forsyth KC in Winston-Salem, NC. Paula Nykiel awarded her Winners Bitch and Best of Winners for 4 points. And Tash makes his first appearance in the ring and is Reserve to a 4 point major.

AKC National Lure Coursing Championship

 

We had a wonderful weekend at the 2010 AKC National Lure Coursing Championship in Reidsville, NC. It was cold but oh, so exciting to see so many wonderful runners. Tarifa was Best of Breed on Sunday and was high scoring Dual Champion Saluki for the weekend. Unfortunately, due to an injury incurred on Sunday, she was unable to compete for Best in Event Saluki. Tarifa had taken home the title in 2007, the last time the event was held in our area. We are so proud of her.

November 13 & 14, 2010: It's been a busy and successful weekend for Elsto Khariz hounds in Norway and the U.S.

Elsto Khariz Amazing Amanda is Best of Breed Afghan Hound, Group 1 and BIS2 in Kongsberg, Norway

Elsto Ata Alanna-Khariz (Kikki) wins her first CC in Stord, Norway, defeating two champion Saluki bitches to 2nd Best Bitch.

Elsto Atash-Khariz (Kikki's littermate) officially starts his lure coursing career by successfully completing his first JC run.

October 30, 2010 - Tarifa pulls another Best In Field at the ASFA trials at Rocky Mount, NC. Wow! Thanks to Jim Anthony, Leigh Littleton and Dean Wright for this win. Congratulations to my darling veteran. Shown here with Leigh Littleton.

Tash (14 months old) was test dog and proves his enthusiasm for the lure and little Lashes, only 7 months old, runs the entire course at practice. We're hoping for two more committed coursers.

Regional Invitational ASFA

October 23 & 24, 2010 - Our veteran saluki, DC Abu Baqr's Ellah Tarife SC, shines in the Region 8 Ivitational for the American Sighthound Field Association. She is Best of Breed Saturday and Sunday and walks away with the ASA ASE Perpetual Trophy for 2010. The hosting club was SHOT in Williamsburg, VA. The judges for this event were James Anthony of Florida, Tom Cigolli of West Virginia, Ian Davies of Maryland and Pete Lowe of Colorado. It was a beautifully run event with perfect weather. Congratulations to all the winners. Steve Surfman took some wonderful pictures which will be posted here when available.

Lure Coursing Best of Breed

October 2 and 3, 2010: Tarifa continues to prove she can still run even though she is in the Veterans Class. Back to back Best of Breeds at the AKC MAHA trials in Rocky Mount, NC. Way to go, girl!

Best of Breed for Cassie at Pinehurst

Sept. 19, 2010 Moore County KC - Cassie has a fabulous day at Pinehurst, NC! Winners Bitch for a major, Best of Winners and then she tops it off with Best of Breed. Thanks to judge Virginia Lynn and congrats to her owner, Barbara Brewer.

Lashes' Show Debut

Sept 18 & 19 Pinehurst, NC: At 6 months of age, Lashes goes to her first shows at Moore County KC. She wins Reserve to majors on both Saturday and Sunday. What a nice beginning for our little saluki.

Affie is Yaffa's beautiful tri color parti daughter. Congratulations to Anna Storesund also, who piloted her to this wonderful win.

Cody Temple Flowers returns to Norway for a visit and is reunited with Elsto Khariz Amanda in the ring. Cody pilots her to Best of Breed and Hound Group 2.

His sister, Elsto Afareen-Khariz wins her first CC, Best of Breed (over a Champion) and is 3rd in the Hound Group.

Diva Wins Again!

July 18, 2010 - Diva adds to her point total by winning two more points at the Nebraska KC under judge Eugene Blake. The day before she was Reserve to a major under Robert Stein.
This brings her to 10 points with one major.
