YAFFA'S PUPPIES ARE HERE!

July 1, 2012 - The eagerly awaited litter of Multi Ch. Dabka's Italy and Multi Ch. Omen Yaffa to Elsto-Khariz has arrived. 7 beautiful babies....3 boy and 4 girls in varying shade of red and cream. Good job Mama Yaffa! We know these will be as beautiful as your first litter. Pictures will be added as they grow to the Smug Mug link.

ASFA Trials - Rocky Mount, NC

Jne 9 and 10, 2012 - Tash runs his first American Sighthound Field Association trials this weekend and wins Best of Breed both days. He finishes his first day of running and comes home with Best In Field. Tarifa, adds 18 points towards her ASFA title while Tash earns his first 24 points. Congratulations and thanks to respected judges, Ian Davies, Sara Lenahan and Dean Wright. Your very nice comments about our boy were very much appreciated.

MASTER COURSER

June 2, 2012 - Camden, SC. At and 9 years and 8 months, Tarifa finishes her Master Courser requirements. We are so proud of our wonderful little courser. She would not give up even though she strained a rear muscle on her last course. What heart you have, dear Tarife. Tash adds another Best of Breed and turns in a good performance for Best In Field but not good enough to beat the Borzoi, Shimmer. Congrats to Shimmer and her owners. I know you were proud!

Lure Coursing Majors

May 19 and 20, 2012 - Reidsville, NC It wasn't an easy course but what an exciting weekend. In addition to sharing the day with other lure coursing friends Tash and Tarifa each brought home a lure coursing major. On Saturday, the indomitable Tarifa shows she's still got some coursing left in her by winning Best of Breed for a 4 pt. major. Tash comes home with his first lure coursing 3 pt major. The following day, Tash took the Breed for another point. And Tash completed his Senior Courser requirements this weekend. We had a lovely ceremony commemorating Pat's beautiful Borzoi Rod by having a 4th dog run. Pat generously gave beautiful rosettes to the Borzoi Best of Breed winner each day. As much as we wanted to, it was nearly impossible to say many words about Rod because we all broke into tears remembering this lovely Borzoi who lost his life doing what he loved....lure coursing.

New Saluki Champion

May 12th - Mid Atlantic Hound Association of Central North Carolina Lashes finishes her championship with another major under Judge Chuck Bagnell at the MAHA sighthound specialty. Thank you for putting the finishing touches on our little girl. She is now Ch. Omen Cee Candace Khariz JC

In Best of Breed competition, our young Ch. Elsto Atash-Khariz is Select Dog for a 4 pt major. May 13th - Lashes makes her debut in the Champion class and wins a 3 pt major Select. Woo hoo! Tash duplicates his win of the day before by being awarded another 4 pt major Select. He is now halfway to his Grand Championship with 3 majors and 13 pts. Thank you to Judge Sharon Clark for Sunday's awards.

April 13, 2012 - Friday the 13th turned out to be a winning day for Cassie...new Champion Elsto Khariz Dixieland Blues JC who finished her title in grand style with a 5 point major under Mary Ann Alston in Perry, Georgia.

April 1, 2012 - What a great day for Khariz Salukis.Omen Cee Candace Khariz JC (Lashes) was Winners Bitch and Best of Winners for a 4 point major bringing her within 3 single points of her championship.And, in Best of Breed, Tash, Am. Ch. Elsto Atash-Khariz JC was Select Dog for a 4 point major.Thanks to judge, Lowell K. Davis for these terrific wins.

Lure Coursing Results - Reidsville, NC

Feb 25 & 26, 2012
We had our first weekend lure coursing of the year in Reidsville, NC this weekend. It was Tash's first official AKC trial and we are very happy with the results.
Tarife - at 9 1/2 - shows she still has the will to run and surprised us by beating Tash for Best of Breed on Saturday and adding another qualifying score to her Master Courser pursuit and another point towards her LCX
Tash takes his first Best of Breed Sunday and earns his first two points towards his Lure Coursing Championship and two qualifying scores towards Senior Courser.
We are looking forward to running again in May.

Nordic Winner Show

December 12, 2011 - Stockholm, Sweden. The Saluki Ring.
Yaffa and Anna have a fabulous time in the saluki ring. With an entry of 48 salukis which included 27 bitches, Yaffa come home with Best Opposite Sex, Crufts qualification (again), Swedish Champion, Nordic Champion, CACIB and Nordic Winner 2011. Yaffa is also Number One Saluki in Norway for 2011.
What a fabulous end to a fabulous year. Thanks to Anna Storesund for her wonderful handling of our parti saluki.

Stockholm, Sweden Nordic Winner Show

OMG! What an incredible day with fabulous results.
Elsto Khariz Amazing Amanda is Best Opposite Sex at the large Nordic Winner show held in Stockholm, Sweden. She became the Afghan Hound Nordic Winner 2011 at this show, won the CACIB and qualified for Crufts again.
Amanda has once more finished as Number One Afghan Hound for the year in Norway. Congratulations to Tove and Kjell and Patrick who handled her to these wonderful wins.

Furniture City KC, Dec 11, 2011 - We had some fun at Furniture City. Lashes adds another point in her title pursuit and Tash picks up his first points towards his Grand Championship. Many thanks to the person who helped with the dog shuffling and who took Lashes in the ring for me for Breed.

November 26, 2011 - Tash runs with Tarifa to complete his qualified courser requirement. It was a beautiful run and he will now be able to work towards his Lure Coursing title as well.

ASFA Region 7 Invitational

November 5 & 6th, 2011 - Tarife celebrated her 9th birthday on October 17th but she proved she still has what it takes to make it around a lure coursing field. MAHA hosted the Region 7 invitational at Reidsville and Tarife showed her stuff once again by being Best of Breed on Sunday.
Congratulations to Kirby Overcash and Miles for taking home the ASA trophies by being overall high scoring for both days and winning Best of Breed on Saturday.
Tarife is 6 points short of her ASFA Field Championship. But age sure isn't stopping her!
